120 - Types of Series

We are very familiar with sequences. If sequences are sets of certain numbers, series are the sum of the numbers given by a sequence. There are two important concepts in series, the sequence of terms, which defines the way the terms will follow in a series, and the sequence of partial sums, which is all the terms in the sequence of terms added up. It is a sequence in itself.

The series for the terms is then defined (the infinite series)
Series can converge, diverge or be indeterminate. A series will converge when the sequence of terms converges to zero, which means the sum of all these terms will no longer change.
