29 - Thevenin's Theorem

In many cases in circuit analysis we have large circuits and we only want a portion of the circuit and not the circuit as a whole. In such cases we use Thevenin's Theorem:
Any two terminal DC network can be replaced by an equivalent circuit consisting of a voltage source and a series resistor.

This source and resistor are called the thevenin equivalent voltage source and thevenin equivalent resistance.
